Association Handicapés de Mopti

(Mopti, Mali)

Association created in Mopti (Mali) by some boys remained without the use of his legs due to polio, still widespread disease in Africa.
The original idea that led to the creation of the association was: I have no use of their legs, but I can still use my hands.
The association realizes craft products (including jewelery and leather works) and organizes training courses for other handicapped children who wish to enter to make part.

The key word is combine order: yes at work not begging (yes no begging at work).
This is why the members of the association, in addition to organizing courses for new members, they put on a little music group with which they go around Mopti to play for finance, but above all to raise awareness of other handicapped people and encourage them to give alms instead to work in partnership.

Currently the association is formed by 55 persone: 40 men and 15 women.
The latter in June 2007 they opened their own boutique next to the site where they sell loincloths (traditional colorful cotton towels in a thousand fantasies with which they dress women), cosmetics and other products destined mainly for the local market.
