Projects

What does it mean and, above all, how will AfricaGriot international cooperation?

We respond with the words of Jean-Léonard Touadi, journalist and contributor to Nigrizia, who in his book L’Africa in pista(2006, ed.SEI) writes:

"[...] cooperation do not mean, first, recognize subjectivity local partners. A statement that seems almost self-evident but whose obviousness collides with a reality where still dominates the verticality of the report. [...] An African proverb says the hand that receives is always under the one that gives, as if to say that the cooperating that occurs always in the manner of having little chance of establishing an equal relationship. What Is More, legitimate and justified the possession of certain material resources and the excessive trust placed in them as a guarantee of success of the project could transform the cooperating, the eyes of its local interlocutors, in an ATM or walking in a vending machine goods. [...]
The task of co-operation, this day, would be to get - with humility, intelligence and courage - alongside the forces of social and economic traformazione poor countries. Cooperate is to help territories and communities to rediscover their local resources, the self-confidence, the prospect of a recovery in the hands of their own destiny. [...]
Cooperation do not mean to implement a single development model defined once and for all along pathways accrued in Europe. [...] mean abandoning the development and help the developments endogenous able to respond to the basic needs targeted and sustainable."
